Volunteer Opportunities

Be the first to meet and greet employers, organizations, agencies or school districts attending career fairs, Graduate and Professional School Fair or Educators' Job Fair each year. Serve as an ambassador for New Mexico State University and the Career Services Office. Volunteers receive service credit for their campus organization, continental breakfast, refreshments, and excellent exposure to employers.

Volunteers are an essential element in providing excellent customer service to our employer guests. Business casual is the recommended attire while serving as a volunteer during these events. Contact the event coordinator at hireNMSU@nmsu.edu or call 575-646-1631 to register yourself or your group as a fair volunteer.

Volunteer Assignments - Check In at Employer Registration Table

*Times will vary slightly for events held on October 1 and April 20.

Employer Assistance 7:00am - 9:00 a.m. (4 volunteers):

Welcome employers to NMSU. Assist with packages and escort them to their assigned booth location in Corbett Center. Assist with any questions of employer.

Balloons and Decorations 7:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. (4 volunteers):

Blow up balloons and decorate ballrooms and other areas around Corbett Center.

Parking Lot Attendants 7:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.

Garcia Annex Lot 41 (2 volunteers) and Corbett Center Rotunda (1 volunteer)

Assist Career Services staff with employer welcome, parking questions, and unloading of materials for delivery to Corbett Center.

Street Signs 7:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. (12 volunteers minimum): This is an ideal assignment for a student organization. Signs are held at key locations around the perimeter of campus to aid employers in locating Corbett Center and parking in or near Garcia Annex Lot 41.

Candidate Registration 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (2 volunteers per hour): Greet candidates entering the event, request candidate swipe ID card for event registration, provide diagram of booth locations and evaluation form for event.
