Educators' Job Fair

Dear Colleagues:

Greetings from southern New Mexico! I would like to take this opportunity to extend an invitation to participate in the 2009 Educators� Job Fair at New Mexico State University on April 20 & 21, 2009. Upon your decision to participate, we will process your registration and anticipated vacancies. At that time your interview schedule(s) will immediately be posted to our website for candidate sign-up activity based on your requirements.

Regional support has made this fair a showcase event for both recruiting personnel and candidates. As in past years, the majority of the candidates will be from New Mexico State University, Western New Mexico University and the community. However, a growing number of candidates from across the nation are utilizing this event to find challenging positions.

A continuing feature of this year�s fair will be the ability of local and out-of-town candidates to register and schedule structured interviews via the Internet. This format of structured interviews, as opposed to a walk-in situation, has been the key to successful fairs in the past. The sooner we receive your requirements, your district will benefit from a greater amount of advertisement.

The 2009 fair once again will feature an outreach forum in which districts and candidates may interact for the purpose of building additional interview sign-ups. The forum will take place on Sunday, April 19 from 4-6 p.m. Structured interviews begin immediately at 8:30 a.m. on Monday for all districts.

The employer registration fee will be 0 for one day or 5 for both days and will include optional participation in the forum. (Additional tables will be available upon request for an additional charge.) This modest registration fee will allow us to continue the high quality of service that employers have come to expect.

The following are key dates that will require some corresponding action on the part of participants:

1. ASAP � Complete your registration on our web site (http://careerservices.nmsu.edu) and submit it electronically. Click on the Educators� Job Fair icon on the right-hand side of the screen, then Employers. The information you provide will be used to develop sign-up sheets for structured interviews with your organization and for advance publicity releases.
2. Mid - January 2009 � Candidates will commence Internet sign-ups for structured interviews with particular employers. This activity will continue until April 12, 2009 at 12:00 midnight and then resume with on-site sign-ups in the Dona Ana Room of Corbett Center April 19-21, 2009.
3. April 6, 2009 � The registration fee must be received in our office by this date, unless special arrangements have been made.
4. Cancellation policy and corresponding fee assessment are as follows:
   • Before April 6 - No charge.
   • Between April 6 and April 17 - 0
   • After April 17 (including no shows) - Full registration fee for the # of days reserved.
