Cooperative Education Program

Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for a cooperative education assignment, you must:
  • Be a full-time student (12+ credits for undergraduates, 9+ credits for graduate students)
  • Be degree-seeking (major declared)
  • Be at least a sophomore (NOTE: Students can apply for co-op as freshmen, but cannot go on workphase until they have completed 28 or more credits. Additionally, students should not be graduating at the end of the semester of application)
  • Have a minimum GPA of 2.0 for undergraduates, and 3.0 for graduates
  • Be fully registered with the career services office.

If you do not meet the above requirements and wish to participate anyway, schedule an appointment with the Cooperative Education Coordinator to request a waiver.

Registration

You are not fully registered for co-op until you:

  • Create an electronic profile on AggieTRAK, NMSU's Career Services System.
  • Upload your resume to your AggieTRAK Profile.
  • Complete and sign all required Co-op forms and turn them in to the Co-op office.

Accessing your AggieTRAK profile in the future will require you to use the username and password you developed. You are encouraged to keep your electronic profile and resume as up-to-date as possible, since these are sent to prospective employers as part of your referral (application) packet. The entire registration process must be completed before requesting Co-op referrals or scheduling interviews for any co-op opportunities.
