Cooperative Education Program

Role of Faculty

We appreciate the services provided by the faculty at NMSU. With faculty support, the Co-op Program has enjoyed great success for over 55 years. The Co-op Program began in the mid-1950s with Civil Engineering students working for both the State of New Mexico Highway and Transportation Department and with White Sands Missile Range. Throughout the years, the program has increased in student participation as well as in the types of disciplines that employers have requested. The faculty has assisted the Program in various ways, including, but not limited to, the following:

  1. Announcing positions to students via email and posters.
  2. Referring potential employers to the Co-op Office for possible
    participation in the Co-op Program.
  3. Providing written support for graduate students.
