13th Annual Career Connections – January 30- January 31, 2018

9:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Corbett Center Student Union, Third Floor – Ballrooms

Two-day career fair coordinated by Career Services and co-sponsored by the College of Engineering on January 31.

January 30: the focus of the event will be on majors in the colleges of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences, Arts and Sciences, Business, Education (non-teaching), and Health and Social Services.

January 31: the focus will be on majors in Computer Science, Engineering, Life/Physical Sciences, Mathematics, and Technology, but other majors are encouraged to attend.

New Mexico State University is a comprehensive land-grant institution of higher learning, dedicated to teaching, research, and service at the undergraduate and graduate levels. NMSU is a NASA Space Grant College, a Hispanic-serving institution and is home to the very first Honors College in New Mexico. U.S. News and World Report ranks NMSU in the top tier among Best National Universities. Employers attending this career fair will be interacting with quality candidates who would like to learn more about their career field or obtain a position as an intern, co-op, summer, or regular employee. NMSU offers 90 bachelor and 50 graduate programs. Though each day focuses on specific career fields, employers and candidates are encouraged to attend both days to maximize their networking opportunities.

Career Connections is free for candidates and is open to NMSU students, alumni, and community members.

The following information outlines the full-service recruiting schedule that the Career Connections can offer to participating employers during their visit to the NMSU campus.

Sunday, January 29, 2017
  • Travel to Las Cruces,NM.
  • Check-in at hotel.
 Monday, January 30, 2017
  • Travel to Las Cruces; check-in at hotel.
  • Morning/Afternoon or any available time during the week: Visit relevant classrooms and faculty, tour the campus, etc. (Contact Ms. Elizabeth Ortega, Coordinator for Employer Relations at employer@nmsu.edu, or (575) 646-1631 if you would like contact information or suggestions.)
  • Lunch with faculty. (The Career Services office is available to help coordinate or provide contact information for lunch arrangements during the week.)

From the South (El Paso):

Take Interstate 10 to Interstate 25. Exit Interstate 25 North to University Avenue, Exit 1. Turn left on University Avenue. Turn left on Triviz Street. Turn right on Arrowhead Drive and proceed to Stewart Street. Turn right on Stewart Street.  Turn right on Andrew Wall Place and proceed to Garcia Annex, Lot 41.

From the East (Alamogordo):

NMSU Visitor Parking Passes

A visitor’s permit allows you to park your car in any regular student, faculty/staff, or visitor spot on campus.  The permit does not allow parking at a meter, green (loading), red (emergency) or blue (handicapped – unless additional permit is shown). If you own the vehicle you will be using, please go E-permit to print a permit in advance. If you will be using a rental vehicle, pick up a parking permit from the parking lot greeter on the day of the event.
