  • Registration for candidates and employers begins.
  • Schedule Educators’ Job Fair interviews.
  • Attend resume workshop to learn about resume writing techniques.
  • Attend other workshops to aid in job search process.  See the new workshop schedule at http://www.careerservices.nmsu.edu.
  • Schedule personal appointment for resume review.
  • Contact state certification offices to determine licensure requirements.
  • Review school districts’ web pages to learn about philosophy and expectations.
  • Review EJF website for employer updates
  March
  • Contact references to seek letters of recommendation.  Suggested persons include the cooperating teacher, student teacher supervisor, past or current employers, professors in major discipline, or others who have observed your teaching experiences.
  • Review letters of recommendation tips and Guide to Reference Writers http://www.careerservices.nmsu.edu
  • Registration, interview sign-up, workshops, and career advising continues.
  • Prepare attire for interviews (professional dress is most important).
April
  • April 7 – Last week to schedule EJF interviews.
  • Review EJF website for information and preparation for event, (http://careerservices.nmsu.edu).
  • April 13 – Last day to upload resume, schedule or cancel EJF interview online.
  • April 14-19 – EJF schedules closed for processing of paperwork and preparation of employer packets.   Any interviews to be cancelled, call 646-2849 to request cancellation.
  • April 20 – OPEN FORUM begins at 3:00 p.m. for employer registration and 4:00 p.m. for candidate registration until 6:00 p.m. 

      -> Opportunity to meet with school districts informally.

      -> New candidate registration.

      -> Check-in for pre-registered candidates.

      -> Schedule additional interviews.

      -> Secure school district applications.

  • April 21 – All candidates must wear nametags at all times. Candidates’ check-in will be on the second level (before 11:30 a.m.) or Dona Ana Room after 11: 30 a.m.  Candidates must report to check-in area prior to their first interview to receive packet and nametag.

      -> 7:30 a.m.  – Check-in begins.

      -> 8:00 a.m. – 9:45 a.m. – Outreach Forum  (some school districts may have interviews that begin at 8:30 a.m.)

      -> 10:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. – structured interviews.

      -> 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Recruiter Reception.

       # Candidate registration, add and change of interviews will occur from 7:30    a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

  • April 22– Candidate registration will be held in the Dona Ana Room.  All candidates must wear nametags at all times.
                  # Dona Ana Room, Corbett Center - Candidate registration, adding changing interviews will occur from 7:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
  • April 23 – Letters of recommendation final due date. NOTE:  Only for New Mexico State University students and alumni with active Placement Credential Files.
  • April 24 – Educators' Job Fair candidates who do not have an active NMSU Placement Credential File will be inactivated.
  • May 1 – Employer credential requests from EJF will be processed.
