Regional support has made this fair a showcase event for both recruiting personnel and candidates. As in past years, the majority of the candidates will be from New Mexico State University, Western New Mexico University and the community. However, a growing number of candidates from across the nation are utilizing this event to find challenging positions. A continuing feature of this year’s fair will be the ability of local and out-of-town candidates to register and schedule structured interviews via the Internet. This format of structured interviews, as opposed to a walk-in situation, has been the key to successful fairs in the past. The 2008 fair once again will feature optional outreach forums in which districts and candidates may interact for the purpose of building additional interview sign-ups. One forum will take place on Sunday, April 20 from 4-6 p.m. and targets all districts. The second forum will be conducted on Monday, April 21 from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. and will target those districts which need to continue with outreach to student candidates. Structured interviews begin immediately at 8:30 a.m. on Monday for districts which have been pre-approved for that start time. At 10:00 a.m. interviewing will commence for all other districts. The employer registration fee will be $300 for one day or $375 for both days and will include optional participation in the forum. (Additional tables will be available upon request for an additional charge.) This modest registration fee will allow us to continue the high quality of service that employers have come to expect. The following are key dates that will require some corresponding action on the part of participants:
1.
ASAP – Complete your registration on our web site (http://careerservices.nmsu.edu)
and submit it electronically. The information you provide will be
